Hope Sign

Site-specific object, at the invitation of Sylvia Hubrouck/Ik Geef Je Mijn Raam

Koudekerkseweg 8, Vlissingen

On display until March 24, 2024

Hope Sign was inspired by two poems: "If I Should Die", by the Palestinian professor/writer/poet Refaat Alareer, who was killed in an air raid in early December '24; and "Hope Is The Thing With Feathers" by Emily Dickinson.

I dedicate this work to the children of Palestine/Gaza, and to all children crushed by war.

More information about the work, albeit in Dutch, more photos, and the two poems that inspired the work, can be found in the presentation below.

Thanks to Sylvia Hubrouck, Hans Overvliet and Hans Bommeljé.
