Visual Artist
Site inspired/site specific work
Installations, soundscapes etc.
In the first year of my training as an artist, I was assigned to select a space and "do something with it". At the time I used to walk regularly in a green area called "Het Bossche Broek", and walking there made me realise that a landscape can be a space too. Especially Het Bossche Broek, which is bordered on all sides by the city of 's Hertogenbosch, a river and a highway.

So on a bright, windy day in spring, when the sky was filled with beautiful clouds, I brought down a cloud in Het Bossche Broek. It was a magical experience, and proved to be a key work in my development as an artist. I have made several site-inspired works since, both in art school and after. Mostly installations, but also a brochure and a soundscape.
